NIMOZ has just become an associate member of NEMO (Network of European Museum Organisations). The Network of European Museum Organisations was founded in 1992 as an independent network of national museum organisations representing the museum community of the member states of the Council of Europe.

National Institute for Museums and Public Collections serves as the Centre of Excellence for Digitisation in Museums. Since 2013 we have been working on Polish version of SPECTRUM 4.0., which is a British standard for documentation and management of museum collections. SPECTRUM was published in 1994 by The Collections Trust and it is constantly evolving standard based on experience of museums professionals from the UK and other countries.

In May 2014, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, we held our first meeting with representatives of museums combined with a discussion and inauguration of work on the standard. The first version of the Polish translation was introduced and a detailed timetable for the next two years scheduled. From the start we strongly encourage involvement of representatives of museum sector in Poland to cooperate on development of the Polish version of SPECTRUM and further implementation in the Polish collections. Our experts involved in the project took part in conferences hold in London in 2013, 2014 and 2015. In October 2015, the expert group was appointed to revise the final version of SPECTRUM.

Cooperation agreement between The Collections Trust and the Polish partner as well as SPECTRUM license were translated into Polish and signed in 2015.
